The South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation was started by a few clay target shooting enthusiasts, who were interested in creating an organization to enable youth a better opportunity to enjoy the art of clay target shooting. In 2008, the SCYSF was formed and recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
In the first year of operation, the SCYSF had 377 youth shooters in Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clays events. Our goal is to introduce youth to not only enjoy the outdoors, but also to learn safety with firearms, accuracy, and to meet other youth shooters from around the state.
We are excited about this program and the opportunities we have to instill life skills in youth involved in this program. Skills such as respect, ethics, sportsmanship, teamwork, focus, dedication, and commitment are skills to be mastered to become productive contributing members of society. Shooting is simply the vehicle with which we can deliver our message.
Safety is everyone’s responsibility. The Rules and Regulations for SCYSF Events are designed with the ultimate goal of having a safe Event. SCYSF will recognize all rules of the Host Club and NSCA unless specifically noted.
