South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation Mission Statement

The mission of the South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation is to provide a safe environment in which youth may participate in the sport of sporting clays. In addition, it is our desire to instill life skills such as commitment, focus, respect, sportsmanship, teamwork and a positive work ethic so that our youth will become productive, contributing members of society.

The South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation was started by a few clay target shooting enthusiasts who were interested in creating an organization to enable youth a better opportunity to enjoy the art of clay target shooting. In 2008, the SCYSF was formed and recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

In the first year of operation, the SCYSF had 377 youth shooters in Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clay events. Our goal is to introduce youth to not only enjoy the outdoors, but also to learn safety with firearms, accuracy, and to meet other youth shooters.

We are excited about this program and the opportunities we have to work with youth. Sporting Clays is simply the vehicle with which we can deliver our message.
